For more than three decades, Witness has been privileged to present the gospel of Christ in musical programs throughout the tri-state area to a variety of denominations. We have endeavored to communicate the gospel through programs that minister to lives in a meaningful way.
Drawing on extensive ministry experience, we share the Word and bring personal testimony. Through the vehicle of music, our purpose is to reach out to hurting hearts with message-filled songs that have personally impacted our lives.
Our aim continues to be that of introducing God’s wondrous plan of salvation to the lost, bringing encouragement to believers in their daily walk, and challenging people to make a renewed determination to “press on toward the mark of high calling in Christ our Savior”.
Terry Smith
Terry Smith was born into a Christian home in Allentown, PA, and currently resides in Easton, PA with his wife, Barbara, who also sings in “Witness.” Terry has been a member, as well as manager of the group, for over thirty years. He has also been involved in leading worship in his home church.
Terry’s heart is for people who are facing seemingly insurmountable struggles. He believes that Christian music is a powerful vehicle to touch lives with the message of hope and grace. His desire has always been to effectively communicate God’s word through the ministry of “Witness.”
Barbara Smith
Barbara Smith came to an early acceptance of Christ while seeing the gospel lived out seamlessly and authentically by her preacher grandfather. She is honored to carry on his calling by singing for the Lord for over thirty years. In “Witness” programs, she reminds folks that life is temporary and fleeting. Therefore, it is important to embrace it with Christ being the center of our joy, but also to view it with the eyes of eternity. One verse that serves as a compass for her life is Philippians 3:14 (NIV): “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Steve Housel
Steve Housel was saved by God’s grace as a teen. Soon after that, he began singing solo and has continued to minister through gospel music since that time. He and his wife, Dory, live in Mount Bethel, PA. They have two grown children and two grandchildren.
Blessed to be a part of the Witness ministry for six years, he has seen firsthand how music can bridge the gap between the lost and the good news of Jesus Christ. His prayer is that God will use the message of the gospel in song to strengthen the weary, lift up the brokenhearted and cheer on the faithful as they walk with Him. The Scripture verse that has meant so much to Steve over the years and has kept him walking the straight and narrow path is Isaiah 40:31: “Those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not grow faint.”
